Trained and worked as a geologist before entering financial services as an independent adviser in 1985 aged 25.
First and foremost Gary is an enthusiastic financial planner and investment adviser serving a range of clients from all walks of life.
Gary is active in industry circles and is Deputy Chairman of the Association of Independent Financial Advisers.
A Chartered Financial Planner, Gary was a Senior Examiner for the Chartered Insurance Institute from 1999 to 2016 and is Deputy Chairman of the Qualifications, Examinations and Assessments Committee of the CII Board.
He was a member of the Financial Services Authority Regulatory Decisions Committee from 2006 to 2013.
Gary is currently a Lay Member of the Upper Tribunal Tax and Chancery Chamber.
Chartered Financial Planner
Susie joined Bottriell Adams in 2006 and is the Partner responsible for overseeing all operational matters and the management of the administration team. She has over 20 years experience in compliance and financial services roles and has worked for both major product provider firms and small advisory businesses.
Susie holds adviser level qualifications and although not an adviser herself she is happy performing financial planning work in support of the other partners as well as ensuring all client administration runs smoothly.
Susie is particularly strong in dealing with product provider companies and ensuring that they deliver as good a service as we can get from them for our clients. She is also very personable and happy to take clients calls when they need to raise a query or require something to be done.

Sarah has over thirty years’ experience running the finances of regulated financial services businesses, and has worked in that capacity for our Managing Partner Gary Bottriell throughout his career in the sector.
Andy is a Chartered Financial Planner who specialises in individual financial planning issues such as savings, investments and planning for the future, as well as mortgage finance and family protection.
Following a degree in Financial Services Andy has spent 23 years in the industry in various roles and has a strong background in personal and business finance. Throughout his career Andy has always felt that working directly for clients on an independent basis is the only way to give quality, impartial advice.
Andy describes himself as a keen, but not very talented, golfer and coaches his son’s football team at weekends.

Jane is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and is thus professionally qualified to degree level.
Jane performs a paraplanning role at Bottriell Adams and does not work as a client adviser – only Financial Planners at Bottriell Adams perform that role.
Jane works in the background for the Financial Planners undertaking research tasks and performing financial planning work.
Jane has experience working for major provider companies where she commenced her financial services career after acquiring a degree in Statistics and Mathematics.
Jane has experience at both large and small advisory firms.
Jane is a key member of the team, is familiar with our client’s affairs and is always happy to speak with you on the phone to deal with your questions.
Erika joined the financial planning team in June 2017, she has previous experience gained from working for over 17 years within the pensions, private banking and discretionary investment management sectors.
Erika has been a member of both the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), for several years.
Erika now holds the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, following her earlier degree in Business Administration.

Claire joined Bottriell Adams in October 2019 and has a wealth of experience in the financial services industry, including combating Financial Crime for a large Insurance Provider and specialising in resolving regulated complaints at executive level. Claire strives to provide a high level of service and is currently enrolled on the Financial Adviser Apprenticeship studying towards her Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.

Sandra has over 15 years financial services experience in various roles. She qualified as a Chartered Financial Planner in 2013 and is currently working towards becoming a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society.
Sandra has worked for a variety of Financial Planning organisations both in the UK and abroad, and has joined the team at Bottriell Adams as compliance assistant.
She assists with our regulatory obligations and completes the various reports required by our regulator.
Sandra liaises with our external compliance consultants and auditors.

Lisa joined Bottriell Adams in 2016 and has taken over the day to day management of the Administration Team, ensuring we continue to provide the high quality, personal administration service that our clients have come to expect from us.
Lisa has a large amount of investment administration experience, gained whilst working for two well known local investment institutions.
Lisa is currently studying towards her Diploma in Financial Services.

Michael joined Bottriell Adams as an administration assistant in 2010, having worked in the financial services industry in a similar role for a number of years.
He is an indispensable member of the team, responsible for the production of all client valuations and background analysis reports which facilitate the portfolio reviews.
Michael is also responsible for the firm’s online processes.
Jade joined Bottriell Adams in September 2018. She has a varied background in the financial services industry; previously specialising in the banking and mortgage sectors. Jade has a passion for delivering the consistent level of exceptional personal service our clients expect.
Debbie joined Bottriell Adams in January 2020. She was most recently an Administrator for an investment management company and has previously worked for a large fund manager in a variety of roles. Her experience will be invaluable to the Administration Team.
Emma joined the Administration Team at Bottriell Adams in November 2019 and has previously worked in a variety of customer services roles, with experience in sales and banking industries.
